So far, we haven't had a need to utilize the very extensive coverage they offer for short term rentals, but we breathe easier knowing we have it! In our first year hosting we had a typical homeowners policy with a rider for use as a STR, but hearing various stories and risks associated with that limited coverage, we decided a policy with Proper would make us rest easier. Working with them so far has been great. It isn't cheap, but it certainly seems worth it. Everyone we have encountered has been really lovely and helpful!

My Airbnb rental has been insured with Proper Insurance for the last 7 years. I recently filed a claim and received a pay out. Things to note: Zach N. was the 2nd claims specialist assigned to me and he’s the best - both professional and consistent with communication.
Every Tuesday he did an email check in restating the items I needed to provide him. And he would send those emails to me weekly over and over again because I didn’t get the info and he was professional every time. When I finally got to sending over the information, he responded promptly- almost immediately.
I never had any follow up from the initial specialist, and you really need follow up when life gets busy. I’m so thankful for him. Of course there was some give and take but I’ve had USAA in the past, made a claim and they were the absolute worst-rude and disrespectful after giving them 23 years of business and one claim, for a puny amount. I’d run from them.
Back to how great Proper Insurance has been…For my annual renewal I needed to update things and they reached out numerous times to make sure my insurance didn’t skip. They also have so many partner options that are included and some for additional pay that are super helpful.
I just really appreciate them and would 100% recommend them to everyone.
